Saturday 1 August                        Circular from Amberley                                               13 miles     Moderate

Starts at 10:30: Amberley Railway Station (BN18 9LP, TQ026118)

Going east on the South Downs to Rackham Hill, then down to Burpham for pub lunch at The George (bought by local people and refurbished in 2013, claims to welcome 'muddy-booted walkers). Then via Wepham to the Monarch's Way and Arundel for tea, returning through Arundel Park and riverside. Dropout point at Arundel (9 miles). Depart Victoria 9.04, Clapham Junction 9.10, arrive Amberley 10.27. Mobile on day only 020 3286 1567.

Wednesday 5 August          Great Missenden Circular in the Hampden Area            11 miles   Moderate/hilly

Starts at 10:30: Great Missenden Railway Station (HP16 9AY, SP892013)

Hilly walk from Great Missenden via Prestwood, Great Hampden (lunch, picnic or pub). Return via Hampden House and Little Hampden. Depart Marylebone 9.42, Harrow-on-the-Hill 9.54, arrive Great Missenden10.24.

Saturday 8 August                Berkhamsted Circular to Cholesbury                          11.5 miles   Moderate/hilly

Starts at 10:45: Berkhamsted Railway Station (HP4 2AJ, SP993081)

Circular west from Berkhamsted via Martin Chapel ruins and Hawridge Common to Cholesbury for lunch (pub The Full Moon or picnic on common). Continue via Cholesbury Camp, Drayton and Shrubb's Wood to Chiltern Way, descending to canal towpath for return to Berkhamsted. Depart Euston 10.05, Harrow and Wealdstone 10.18, arrive Berkhamsted 10.42 OR Southern Trains depart Clapham Junction 9.39, Harrow and Wealdstone 10.12, arrive Berkhamsted 10.31.

Sunday 9 August                         Pangbourne Circular                                                 11.5 miles    Moderate

Starts at 10:55: Pangbourne Railway Station (RG8 7DY, SU632766)

Circular walk through the Berkshire countryside via Upper Basildon. Lunch at the Red Lion, Upper Basildon or picnic nearby. Depart Paddington 9 43 or Ealing Broadway 8.51, arrive Pangbourne 10.54.

Wednesday 12 August               Borough Green to Sevenoaks                                     10 miles     Moderate

Starts at 11:05: Borough Green & Wrotham Railway Station (TN15 8AJ, TQ608574)

Apart from a couple of hills, the walk is across gently undulating countryside with good views. Lunch at Ightham Mote (NT cafe open to public) or picnic. Depart London Victoria 10.22, arrive Borough Green & Wrothan 11.04.

Starts at 10:00: Amberley Railway Station (BN18 9LP, TQ026118)

Morning spent following the West Sussex literary trail through the Sussex countryside including the picturesque village of Bury. Lunch at Sutton (picnic or pub). Hilly in the afternoon including Barlavington Hanger and the South Downs Way with views across the downs to the coast. Sunday 16 August                           Brighton Stroll                                                                  6 miles      Easy

Starts at 11:05: Brighton Railway Station (BN1 3XP, TQ310049)

An easy linear walk from Brighton to Rottingdean, enjoying the lanes, Brighton Pavilion and museums. Late lunch in the Brighton Marina area (picnic, cafes or pub). Depart Victoria 10.06, arrive Brighton 11.04. Bus No12 for return to Brighton from Rottingdean. Mobile on the day only 07751 957 380.

Starts at 11:25: Box Hill & West Humble Railway Station (RH5 6BT, TQ167518)

Shortish morning via Norbury Park to Polesden Lacey for picnic or café lunch. Hilly return via Ranmore Common and North Downs Way via Denbies, for probable tea. Alternative short return possible from Polesden Lacey.

In the morning a fairly short walk through fields to Blewbury for lunch (Red Lion or picnic). In the afternoon, eight miles of rolling downland partly along the Ridgeway path. Depart Paddington 9.57, Ealing Broadway 10.05, arrive Cholsey 11.11.

A moderate paced walk with good views of the kippax building, finishing with a stroll along the Grand Union Canal. Lunch probably at the Bell Inn, Bedmond. Depart Euston 10.04, arrive Kings Langley 10.31.
